Welcome to Hansell Child Care and thank you for considering our school for the educational needs of your child. As a mother of three (now grown) daughters, I understand the difficult decision you are making right now. Choosing where your child will spend his or her days and deciding who will be providing the care that you would provide is challenging and probably the most important decision you can make for your child's future. Rest assured, you have come to the right place.
I have been the director of Hansell Child Care since 1980. I obtained my Masters degree in Early Childhood from Erickson Institute for Early Learning and Loyola University. I also taught preschool in New York Headstart, as well as first grade in the New York Public schools. I was also the director of St. Christopher’s Hospital Child Development Center and Child Health Intervention in Philadelphia.
I believe in the philosophy that all children deserve a quality learning environment where they are free to express themselves and learn at their own pace. I feel a child care program should provide a safe and nurturing environment in order for the child to blossom to their full potential.
I know that choosing child care for your child is a difficult and sometimes daunting task. I want to assure you that I am here to assist you in any way possible, and to answer any questions or concerns, you may have regarding our center and childcare in general.
Our center is fully licensed by the Department of Public Welfare, and our Pre-K Classes and Kindergarten program are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. All staff members are certified in first aid and CPR as well as fire safety and water safety for our summer months doing water play.
Our center is spacious, with open classrooms and lots of natural light. Your child will be in a classroom with fully qualified teachers that truly care for the children they teach, and will help them develop social, emotional and gross motor skills, along with the academic skills that accompany our program.
As the director, I am here to assist you in any way I can. As a parent, and now grandparent, I know how important it is for your child to receive the best care in a safe, loving, and fun environment. I want to make your child's early school experience the very best it can be! I sincerely hope you will consider us to serve you and your child. Please feel free to call and schedule a tour.
Hansell Child Care is always looking for well-qualified ECE teachers and assisting staff. If you are interested in a position, please feel free to submit your resume. All applications will be thoughtfully considered in confidence.
